About Me

About Me

Hi, I'm Danny — a software engineer living near Atlanta, GA.

Work

I'm a Staff Software Engineer at Intuit (Mailchimp), coming up on a decade there — from billing and payments infrastructure through experimentation platforms to my current work: leading a monolith-to-services migration and building user-facing AI products. Georgia Tech alum. 🐝 The longer version is on the résumé.

AI

My day job is building user-facing AI products that run in production at Mailchimp scale: generative features like AI subject-line suggestions, and the tool-calling layer behind a conversational campaign assistant. That includes the unglamorous parts that make AI shippable — guardrails so the model can't invent campaign details, idempotency so a retried request doesn't create duplicates, golden-dataset evals to measure quality over time, and circuit breakers so a slow model never blocks a customer. I've also shipped MCP tool-servers and AI-assisted incident routing inside the company.

I build with AI too. Coding agents are part of my normal workflow, and this site is a working example: agents did most of the implementation, and the tests and CI caught what they got wrong (the write-up).

Off the clock

I like to run (a long streak of monthly half-marathons), paint and take photos (both in the gallery), record music, and build side projects. Most of all I hang with Yasmeen and our two kids, who are growing up way too fast.

This site

Everything here — the blog, the gallery, and the CMS it's all managed with — is built and run by me. Want to talk shop? Get in touch.
